About Me

I am an Assistant Professor of Field Crops at Hatay Mustafa Kemal University. I have been affiliated with the university since 2012, and I was appointed to my current position in 2022.

My academic background is primarily rooted in agricultural sciences, with a strong focus on field crops. Alongside my academic appointment, I am currently a PhD candidate in Audit and Risk Management, pursuing interdisciplinary training to complement my expertise in agriculture.

I earned my PhD in Field Crops in 2020, following an MSc in the same field. In addition, I hold bachelor’s degrees in Agricultural Engineering and Business, as well as an associate degree in Computer Programming. This multidisciplinary education allows me to integrate agronomic knowledge with analytical, managerial, and data-driven approaches in both research and teaching.

My main research interests include oil crops, plant physiology, and plant nutrition. I also work extensively with agricultural data analysis and experimental design, using statistical software such as SPSS, JMP, and MSTAT-C, and I am developing proficiency in R.

On a personal note, I am married to Dr. Merve Olukman Şahin and am the father of Deniz Burak Şahin. I value maintaining a balanced approach between academic responsibilities and family life.
